42 Facts

Today is my hubby's 42nd birthday. In honor of him and the fact that he has, against all odds, lived this long I would like to present the following fun facts about Dave that you might not know.

1. He was born in Oakland, California
2. His favorite band of all time is Chicago. He’s seen them in concert 5 times.
3. His mom once spanked him with Hot Wheels tracks because they were handy.
4. He was once an Arthur Murray dance instructor.
5. He has appeared on the Ralph Emery Show.
6. He always calls me Sweetie.
7. He misplaces at least one object per day.
8. His favorite movie of all time is Cool Hand Luke.
9. He was the first chair trumpet player in Overton’s marching band.
10. He broke a rib playing softball
11. He almost cut his thumb off with a saw.
12. He broke his hand playing basketball.
13. He broke a bone in his back in a car accident.
14. He paid for my engagement ring with insurance money from previously mentioned car accident.
15. He contracted Lime Disease from a tick bite.
16. He estimates that he has made almost 20 emergency room visits in his lifetime.
17. When we started dating he owned a motorcycle, a Bronco and a red convertible Mustang. Today he owns a work truck and a Camry. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
18. He actually enjoys exercise.
19. He likes to drink V8 with everything including ice cream.
20. He can fall asleep within 7 seconds of his head hitting a pillow.
21. He knows more about the Bible than anyone I’ve ever met.
22. He uses big words like phenomenological in everyday conversation
23. He walked over hot coals when he was 5 just to see what it would feel like.
24. I once watched him eat a raw onion like an apple.
25. He carved our initials in a tree when we were dating.
26. He was in a quartet called “The Sagacious Cuties” in high school.
27. He stills has most of his signature wardrobe pieces from the 80’s including his silver Michael Jackson glove and parachute pants.
28. He has shot himself in the hand with a nail gun at least 3 times since we’ve been married.
29. He is the best Daddy on the planet.
30. He accidently brought a can of beer to Sunday school a few years ago. (Now THAT is a funny story!)
31. He likes to tear walls out of houses, namely the ones we live in.
32. He is one of Tennessee’s best resources of natural gas.
33. He loves to pick fights with me in Blockbuster.
34. One of his greatest wishes is attend the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC.
35. In the 80’s he skipped school with his cousin to haul equipment for Sawyer Brown.
36. He snores. Loudly.
37. He can throw his hip completely out of its socket.
38. He auditioned for a stupid human tricks segment on The Tonight Show with aforementioned hip trick.
39. He proposed to me during a prayer.
40. His favorite concert ever was in 1986: Run DMC, the Beasties Boys and Doug E. Fresh! Yeah…booooieeeeeeeeeeee.
41. He finds it physically impossible to walk down the aisle in a grocery store without touching everything in site.
42. His favorite candy is black licorice.

There are many more that I didn't include but I'll just say this. God blessed me with a wonderful husband. Nobody is more loving, encouraging, giving and patient.
